Thule Chasm Duffel Bags

I am obsessed with travel bags and organization personally – so naturally, I can really appreciate (and nerd out about) a great gear bag when I see one!

Thule’s Chasms are just that! They are ideal for just about anything.  They are my companion out on the boat in the summer for life jackets, sunscreen and towels, hauling around my camping bedding and clothes out in the bush, packing around muddy bike gear and transporting my family’s snowboard gear to and from the hill.

They’re pefect for road trips – big and small, weekend getaways or larger scale travel. These rugged duffel bags stand up to the test of life and I can attest to that.

I have been using Thule duffel bags since the first generation ‘load n’ go’ days and have seen the progression over the years, which is pretty amazing.

Check out all the details on Thule’s website at or see the main features below.

  • Easy access to contents through oversized, wide mouth opening
  • Can be carried in two different ways: as a backpack and as a duffel
  • Protects contents from the elements and folds for easy storage due to the durable and waterproof tarpaulin fabric
  • Keeps gear organized and contained with internal mesh pockets
  • Easy to prevent contents from falling to the bottom of the bag in backpack mode thanks to external compression straps
  • Padded bottom protects your gear from the ground
  • Lockable, zippered side pocket keeps small items secure and within reach
  • Quick access to smaller items through external stash pocket

One key feature that didn’t make the short list, which I notice every time I use these bags and what I look for in any quality bag. The zippers.

They now come in four colourways to suit every taste – Cobalt, Roarange, Bluegrass and Black. The different colours are great for differentiating who’s gear is who’s – or for me, what I’m storing inside… as once my snowboard gear is dry – it goes neatly back into my bag so I don’t forget a thing!

They’re available in four convenient sizes, depending on how much gear you’re hauling:  40L, 70L, 90L and 130L, the smallest of which is carry-on size!
They make a great addition to any adventure lifestyle – or if you’re a collector like me… you can never have too many bags. They also make for a great gift – or so my family and friends tell me to my face! Hey, it’s not a toaster!
